Why does our society have so much animosity towards Jesus? The picture at the top of this link took my breath away it is so disrespectful. Why? We ridicule and mock Jesus constantly with things like this, I heart Satan bumper stickers, Jesus action figures for sale at places like Urban Outfitters where you know that no one is buying them because He is their hero...

We never do these things to Buddha or Shiva or Krishna or any other saint except Jesus... and at times the Virgin Mary.

One time at work on Easter, I thought that one of the doctors said, "Did anyone go to church today?" when he said something else. I told him that I thought that he had said "did anyone go to church today?",. and he sneered and said, "Why the hell would I say THAT?"

I think that our society associates Jesus with the judgemental, damning, pious "religious" people who make Christianity seem like THE ONLY way to live life and who think that whoever does not choose to worship Jesus should no longer walk the same sidewalks as them. People like Dubya who force their religion on an entire country. People who kill others and bomb abortion clinics in the name of Jesus. We are doing such a HUGE disservice to Jesus with all of this behaviour...

Jesus did not teach any of this stuff. Jesus was all about love, peace, forgiveness, joy... He was a total outcast who lived in the woods and desserts and hung out with sinners and probably had long hair and sandals. He radiated love, not hate... not judgement. He taught that salvation is not EARNED by what you do right or don't do wrong but that it is yours as soon as you ask Him for it.

Even those who choose not to accept Him as their spiritual leader... why then ridicule and mock Him? Even those who don't believe in Him... why do all of these things to show the world how much you hate and dissrespect Him? again, you don't see these things ever done about Buddha.

It makes me sad to think of Jesus, who loved us so much that he stretched out his arms and allowed nails to be driven through them into a cross to die for all of us, seeing these things that we do. I can imagine Him looking at the action figures and the pictures of Him coming out of an Easter egg and all of that. What must He think?

Believe or don't believe... Love Him and follow Him or don't... But, why completely mock Him and basically spit on Him and belittle the things that those who choose to believe in Him believe that He did for us? I don't understand it. I guess the basic thing is that our society thinks that Jesus is a horrible, shrewd judge sitting up there with God ready to throw a lightning bolt down at us and send us to Hell for smoking pot. They think this because of the people who judge, hate, condemn, and lecture anyone not at the Baptist church every time the doors open. They think this because a lot of the people who have chosen to follow Jesus have morphed Him into this vengeful God that they want Him to be to make them better than others somehow.

That's not who He is. Read the Bible. Study His path on this earth... He was gentle and wise and so full of love.

So I bought some hemp butter at Rainbow the other day just because it looked green and delicious, and I know that hemp is one of the most absolutely nutritious foods that you can put in your body. It has good protein and good oils that don't clog arteries. It is a sustainable crop and causes very few allergies.

Anyway, I couldn't remember if the hemp butter was to be used as butter or as peanut butter. Hmm... is it gross to spread it on a cracker and eat it? so, I entered hemp butter into google and THIS was the FIRST listing that came up...

dun dun duh... YOU, you hemp eater, you!! You are CAUSING terrorism. Don't you know that that tub of hemp butter that you are spreading on your crackers is funding the next attack that will most certainly be on YOUR city. Dirty dirty hemp granola... Filthy hemp seed bread. May as well be buying up an eight-ball...

They are considering making people riding bikes pay a toll to cross the Golden Gate Bridge!!! Even if you never bike, please log on to this website and tell them that you are against the tolls on bikes!! (if you are, that is...) You could go on to to say that bikes cause no wear and tear on the bridge, bikes are actually good for the bridge and everyone else as they reduce auto emissions and traffic congestion!!!!

Roar~!!

It's so amazing how people come into your life. We met Gene and Desha through my friend Christy and her husband at Christy's wedding. When Gene moved out here a few years ago he gave us a call and went to the Haight Street Fair with us. We barely knew him but had a great time.

Since then, Desha has moved out here, they have gotten married, and we have evolved into such great friends. they were over last night, and we acted silly and childish until around midnight when they left. We love them! They are so weird, and i think that it is our shared weirdnesses that form a sort of bond. I can say anything to Desha or to Gene, and they won't think twice about it...

Mat and I have only a few friends, but the ones that we have we love sooooo much... all of them. I have never had better friends in all of my life than the ones that i have now, I think...
