Things fall apart; the suburbs cannot hold
There's an excellent article on the political leanings of the professional class in The New Republic. Although I wasn't too enamored with page one, where the writer gets all Enron with the numbers, page two is really fascinating. It seems to me, however, that if the Republicans were to nominate a competent, tolerant, politician who rose through the ranks of the meritocracy rather than being "born on third base, thinking he hit a triple," they could easily sway this class. Thank God they all hate McCain.- l i n k -
