I am at home in Bowling Green, Kentucky to be in one of my best friends' weddings. We have been friends since we were born pretty much, and she was in my wedding about a year ago. Anyway, I was checking my email and remembered that tonight is critical mass!!! I hate to miss it. Critical mass is the one time every month where you can ride free in the city. It's almost like everyone grows a pair of wings for the evening, and the huge smiles are permanently slapped across every rosy-cheeked face. Well, that's my naive view. There's plenty of conflict and potential fights out there for all of you who like that kind of thing.
So, if you live in San Francisco, why not get out your bike and meet at Justin Herman Plaza at 6:00? This ride will probably have a lot of people protesting the continuing closure of the Golden Gate Bridge to bikes.
Take back the streets and ride free!!!
The revolution will not be motorized!!!

"May nothing move you;
May nothing terrify you;
Everything passes;
God never changes.
Patience be all to you.
Who trusts in God
Shall never be needy.
God alone suffices."
-- St. Teresa of Avila (1515 -- 82), Spain

Take a lunch break to make a difference at one of the worst intersections in the city. Bicyclists will join advocates for seniors and pedestrians to demand safer streets tomorrow, Tuesday, September 25th at 12 noon at the corner of Fell & Divisadero Streets. Specifically, we will demand that the city do three things: (1) Stripe bike lanes on Fell St. between Scott and Baker Sts. (the Wiggle route), (2) Clear the sidewalks of parked cars by enforcing the law, (3) Increase crossing time for pedestrians at all busy intersections. This is a unique event as bicyclists and seniors show their solidarity in uniting for safer streets. Co-sponsored by SFBC, Senior Action Network, and Walk SF. And including Supervisor Matt Gonzalez, who represents this district. We'll provide the signs, we need you to provide the presence!

I'll be there!! Fell street is horrible... Mat and I use the wiggle route all the time. This is a great opportunity to help change one of the scariest streets in San Francisco. or at least raise a little awareness.

Pilots Will Ask for Permission to Carry Guns Who would have ever thought that this would happen? Armed airline pilots in america? I don't know how I feel about this issue. I don't like guns period. Some people have flammable tempers, and guns fire quickly and you can't take it back. BUT, I sure wouldn't want to be on a hijacked plane either.
I am flying this Thursday. I am going to be armed with a ton of Valerian, Kava Kava, Rescue Remedy, and pranayama. I guess then I will get a better feel for wether or not I would want my pilot armed. Pray for my flight and send me your peaceful vibrations. PLEASE!!!! hee hee...

So sorry everyone, butplease read this. It really spoke to me. Things would be different if meat was produced the way it used to be where the animals grew up with their families in large fields of green grass with room to run, hunt, pick, scratch, play, breathe. Room to have somewhere to poop except right where they have to stand. Today's factory farms are worse than concentration camps or torture chambers. The horrors that go on there are unspeakable, and I just can't bring myself to tell you what goes on. Consider having a vegetarian day once a week? You'll feel incredible and you won't have to be ingesting all of the fear and stress that you ingest in the meat that you eat.
